Hank Allen
Meet the newest member of the ABC26 Weather Team, Meteorologist Hank Allen

Hank comes to New Orleans from Sioux City, Iowa where he worked as the morning meteorologist for three years at the ABC affiliate. During his time in Iowa Hank forecasted what he says is the most unpredictable weather he has seen. In just five months there was a temperature swing from -16 to 103. Forecasting a wide range of weather helped Hank to grow as a meteorologist. He covered everything from snowstorms to tornadoes. Hank is a member of the American Meteorological Society, and has earned the AMS Seal of Approval.

While he really enjoyed his time in the Midwest, Hank was happy to get back to the south when he moved to Louisiana. Hank is a native of Georgia and considers himself a southern boy at heart. Hank attended college at Mississippi State University where he earned his degree in Broadcast Meteorology with a minor in Communications. While at MSU, Hank traveled to Louisiana to cover Hurricanes Lili and Tropical Storm Isidore. However, this is the first time he has been to New Orleans.

Hank is an avid sports fan and in his spare time can usually be found watching some sort of sporting event. He loves college basketball and football, and is cheering on his Bulldogs every chance he gets. He also roots for the Atlanta Braves and during NFL season is a Falcons fan, which he knows will not agree with the local Saints fans. He also enjoys working out, as well as storm chasing and eating good food. He is happy to be a part of the recovery of New Orleans and looks forward to the challenge of bringing accurate forecasts to the area.
