CHALMETTE --
Wanted rape suspect Bernard Turner surrendered to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office Saturday--just hours after being featured on the ABC26 News Crime Tracker.
Turner's family called ABC26 Saturday morning and asked for the station's help in turning Turner in to the authorities. ABC26 offered the assistance of Crime Tracker Unit member TAT-2, an experienced bounty hunter.
TAT-2 accompanied Turner to lockup, where Turner was booked for rape. Turner is accused of abducting a woman outside of a bar, raping and beating her and leaving her for dead.
