Armstrong International Airport Safe After Reported Bomb Threat

May 12, 2008, 8:15 AM CDT

Security Officials at MSY are taking precautions this morning as a bomb threat was reported around 6AM by phone.

Passengers aboard a Northwest flight en route to Memphis were taken off the plane while Security Officials searched the plane and baggage.

After two rounds of searches as well as all Northwest flight passengers being re-screened, Security officials determined there was no bomb.

Passengers on all other Concourse A flights are currently being re-screened.

Passengers from the Northwest flight have been allowed back into the boarding area to prepare for takeoff shortly.

Local Authorities as well as Federal Agencies are involved in this investigation.
